is based on the famous ancient story thousands of years ago. The director and workers have done a good job to build the scene which looks like the old kingdom very much.The production is fantastic, visual effects are great.Brad Pitt's Achilles is displayed as the star, the hero, and yet he fights for the Greeks,I feel sorrow when Achilles died in the end for his lover.In fact, the entire Trojan War was started only because of the greed of the king of Sparta, Menelaus. Paris, the prince of Troy (son of Priam, the king) took Helen, Menelaus' wife, back to Troy with him after a peace meeting in Sparta. So when I think about the main cause, I doubt whether it's the fault of love that make Paris conduct the big mistake or the greedy kingdom that wants to take charge of every small countries.Hector is displayed as a family man: He doesn't want to go to war, he'd rather stay home with his wife and newborn child, but he is loyal to Troy and must fight for her.
The whole movie talks about the fight between the two countries Greek and Troy, and the real fight between the two fighters Achilles and Hector. Achilles is a strong warrior with a simple mind. He doesn't care about the benefits and the power, but he thinks a lot about his reputation and how he would be recorded in the long history. Hector makes the big mistake when he kills Achilles cousin for mistake, which angers Achilles so much. I always hold the idea that Hector is the symbol of a good man that loves his country, his family, his new child ,his brother very much.
i am afraid that i have a quite different view from you of the characters.in my opinion,achilles is as wise as hector.he has talents in fight and is not so impulsive as hector.he is sincere to love.he is the son of god and he is unsurmountable.why do you think that he has a simple mind!he lives and fights for himself and that is the true life of a human being!he is indeed a true man. there is much more responsibility for hector,responsibility for his family,his county,his people, responsibility to be a good husband ,a good son and a good prince.
ReplyDeleteFristly,I am so glad that I can understand what the characters' words are in this movie.With four months studying of bridging course,I have a great progress in listening at least.Secondly,I really enjoyed this movie which I heard many years ago.This movie helps us to know the real famous story of history.I am looking forward to the next one.
