Since I got to Eton Hall, jogging has become a part of my everyday life. Surrounded by green trees and the blue sky, I feel jogging just turns into a kind of enjoyment, which enables me to get closer to nature. And I also really like the released feeling after sweating. But those are not all the reasons why I like jogging. More importantly, I jog to seek for smiles on my way.
It’s quite usual for me to come across Singaporeans when jogging. At first, I didn’t greet them, for I was afraid to frighten the strangers. However, one day things changed. That morning, I was jogging as usual, and just as usual too, I saw the ladies serving the cottage around walking dogs. When I went nearer to them, one lady’s eye sight met mine. I just felt a little embarrassed and wanted to turn away. Before I did this, the lady smiled and said enthusiastically to me “Morning!” In fact, I was somewhat touched by the smile and the simple word, and automatically I smiled back and said “Morning” to her. It was a small incident, even worthless mentioning. But it really brought some changes to me. I started to open my heart to strangers by smiling. From then on, whenever I met someone ,I just smile to them, though sometimes I can’t get a reply. Of course, I did receive many smiles. That’s what makes me satisfied and what gives me the feeling of being cared. Therefore, when jogging, I in fact gain more than good health, that is, I gain good motion and feelings ,as well. I finally find I will not be as happy when I don’t go jogging.
Jogging is something I can’t drop, for it provides the opportunity to experience kindness.
