The greatest final in the history of European championship league
Turkey is a mysterious country, in which miracles always happen. So in the May 25th 2005,a miracle happened in the Ataturk stadium of Istanbul, which was the greatest final in the history of European championship league. It was the final of 2005 championship league, which two teams entered. They are Liverpool and AC Milan, the two strongest teams in that year. It was an attractive, exciting and dazzling match. I am sure that you wouldn’t forget it for lifelong time if you watch it.
Soccer fans all around the world expected the champion coming into being before May 25th and the winner would be the focus of the world attention. So two teams both had stress. Ok ,let’s look back to the match of miracle to learn why it is the greatest final . Only at the 51 second of the match, “pass, shoot,”.MALDINI scored the first goal for Milan benefited from the mistake of TRAORE. What a wonderful start for Milan ,while terrible for Liverpool! It was a disaster in such a important match, producing shadow in the psychology of Liverpool’s players. Furthermore, crespo scored twice in the 39th and 44th minute.3-0!!!! God, what a overwhelming advantage in a football game with no possibility to catch up! What a first half of disaster for Liverpool! They were as if the goats butchered by the butchers. Every player collapsed, heart sinking, going to the dressing room with hopelessness and disappointment. The grass was dark in their eyes instead of vivid green. Everything seemed to be over as if the god were blessing Milan and the result seemed to be obvious, everyone thinking the champion would belong to the Milan.
No accident happening, Milan would own the 7th championship cup in their team history. Everyone stopped focusing on who would win, EXCEPT THE KOP, the most faithful Liverpool fans. During the period between the two halves, they didn’t complain the bad first half, revile the Liverpool’s terrible performance, instead, they So were the players, who also didn’t give up, still fighting for their honor, for the KOP. They decided to fight back for the faithful fans! In the second half, they weren’t frustrated any more, becoming dynamic and confident. They ran on the court regardless of the spasm of their legs. There was a belief in their mind –never give up. And then the miracle happened, as a rewarding of the impressive spirit. In the 56th minute, Steven Garrard scored one goal, which was the signal of striking back. After scoring, he hung his arms to call up the passion of the fans. Five minutes later, a long shot by Freddie decreased the gap to 2-3. Furthermore, 3 minutes later, xabi Alonso scored the third goal, equalizing the score!!! Ok, everything changed, returning to the winning track! What a miracle!!! They did it, really did it!! They made the most unbelievable miracle of the history, in such a important game!!!! The psychology of Milan’s players had collapsed completely. The grass turned to green again. In the later decisive penalties shoot-out, Liverpool beat the Milan deservedly by perfect performance of DUDEK, the goalkeeper of Liverpool, and the bad condition of Milan. Oh, they are the champion, climbing from the hell to the heaven and becoming the hero of the fans!!! Spirit being relaxed, they could enjoyed themselves, leaving the Milan’s players crying alone.
Finally, Garrard upheld the “big ear cup” stating that the Liverpool had been on the summit of European football!!! The unbelievable final that could be memorized forever, the spirit of never giving up and the faith of the KOP will be written in the history, admired by the coming generations……

football match sometimes is really a spiritual work;and the saying: "only the strong survives",means only the one who has a strong will survive. and that remind me that once my teacher ask me to take an active part in sports to strengthen my will, now i understand how i can do that. LET THE SPIRIT GUIDE ME,...
ReplyDeleteA saying said “ There is a will, there is a way.” After reading this essay I realized it was really true. I felt the power of hope which could push us to move forward and overcame the difficulties on the road. With hope the team made a myth in the world. So I think what we can learn from them is that to keep our hope and never give up. “Impossible is nothing.” If we can keep seeking our goals, I believe one we can get them. It is just a matter of time. With hope and persistence we can beat anything and we can be conquered by nothing!
