We Are All Animals 2. The Points of Authority(YAP 20)

AYesterday, I went out to barbecue with my friend. So there was a lot of meat. This was really an exciting news to the ants living there, and my awareness of their existence must make them feel more excited. I looked at them, they were busying knocking around, of course, they were seeking for food. So I cut a very small piece of meat--though that was an awful lot to them--and put it on the ground. At that moment, I suddenly found that there were two different kinds of ants, one kind had strong bodies and fast speed, the other one hadn't, they were much weaker to the sight.

Then competition began. In my opion, the kind of ants who found the meat first could take it away certanly. So the meat belonged to the weak ones because one of them firstly spot the meat and grabbed it. Slowly, there came a few other weak ants to the meat. They wanted to move it home but were lack of the strength. And a bad news to them was that the meat had also come into the sight of a strong ant. Then in a very short time, there gathered many strong ants around the meat. And how many weak ones were there? Only six, about one-tenth of the strong. Obviously, the meat wasn't theirs any more, the strong ones has great authority over the weak ones. At that time, I was calm as usual because I knew the proverb"only the strong survive". And I thought the weak ants had to find another piece of meat later. But after a while, the six were all killed by the strong. I suddenly grew impatient and extremely angry because this scene remind me of the wars that once broke out in the human society. The strong ones have the authority of possession, but they can't control the other's lives. I throw the meat away, which has a lot of greed strong ant on it.

I think I had done justice for the weak ants. But who will be strong enough to undertake the task to make our human world fair? It's only God can do. But why there are still many places on our earth filled with complaints fo unfairness? Because the God isn't awake at this moment. When he wakes up, we'll finally hear his voice: Justice shall be done, right now!

  1. if you are attentive enough you could find out that the ants which look bigger are not the ones who are the stronger.the number of the smaller ones are much more than that of the bigger ones.actually ,the bigger ones are often kiied by the smaller ones ,which i think that the smaller onrs are much more poisonous than the bigger ones.

  2. Hi Jindum It's a wonderful observation about ants. But I also agree with Michael. The prize does not always go to the strongest, the fastest or the cleverest. Most often it goes to the one who perseveres, who when he/she has fallen WILL get up and say 'Now I've learnt one new thing - this is not the way, I'll find another.' I enjoy watching nature documentary programmes - animals and plants have to much to teach us about living, and about living together so that all can live.
