Thinking about Love(Yap)

I am not so romantic as our group monitor, Guan Xiaokang, who has shared many good love story with us. However, as a pure "C", I also have some thinking about love.
Love is one of the most valuable things we own and maybe the only thing with us after our death to some extent. Before going to university in China, I did not know how happy I was. It seemed to me that it's natural for my parents to treat me like that. Sometimes I even got angry when they repeated something to me. As soon as I got to the Harbin Institute of Technology and had to live on my own, I came to know how much my parents loved me. Every time I made phone calls with my parents, I was in great joy and never bored with chatting with them. Now in Singapore, the feeling is much stronger.
But what simulate me to write this article is not that but that many times in my bridging course people mentioned love between lovers. As far as I know, many people in Eton Hall have the desire to find a boyfriend/girlfriend. In my opinion, the part of the reason is that they want to have someone to share their feelings. And one of the most significant parts of love is listening. She/He expects your suggestions and look forward to your help when complaining something to you. If you are indifferent to what they say, I think, there's not a long way for you to part with she/he.
Love is a topic that will never be out of date. Every literary master-piece in human history has something to do with love to some degree, not matter which kind of love it is. Most of the pop music and moving movies are love songs. Historians and sociologists have divided human history into different periods, such as the industrial age and information age. But we can genealize it as a whole, no matter how long human history will be, "the Love Age".

  1. Hi Changshan, As a popular song line 'Love makes the world go round'. There are many types of love, and we are several of these love at one and the same time. Love of parents does not compete with love of boy/girl friend, spouse, or friend. We never how much we love our parents, siblings or friends till we are no longer with them physically. It is heartening that you realise this. Cherish friendships. But this we can only achieve if we are also a friend to someone. I am sure you are a great friend to have.

  2. Hi,Changsheng. I am happy that you value love so much. If everyone in the world values love, there may not be wars, crimes and exploitation, but in fact,it does is a fact that most of people in the world value love but wars, crimes and exploitation still happen everywhere. Why? A criminal may love his wife very much, but he doesn't like the society or other people. Many people may love their own countries, but hate others,so wars appear. I don't think the "love age" ever appeared, because our love is so narrow.
