Some reflections about my study(5)

Since it is already the end of the seventh week of the intensive English course, I figure out that I need some assessments about my study. Generally, I have treated the course seriously. I found it a good way to improve my English. So, when I am attending the class, I always try my best to concentrate and learn as much as possible. It is very comfortable to listen to the teachers speaking English very proficiently and fluently and I also find my listening proficiency enhanced though listening to them. Furthermore, I also try hard to practice my spoken English. I specially work on the pronunciations to make myself sound natural. I also focus on some orally presenting skills such as how to give an oral presentation in front of many people. Even though I am not very good at it, I think I am improving. There is another important part of the study which is concerned with the vocabulary. Every day I meet so many new words in class when reading the texts or listening to the speakers. I particularly take notes of the new words in my notebook prepared in advance. In addition, I also deal with the assignments in earnest and all by myself. I benefit a lot from the teachers’ feedback of my assignments.
However, there’s something which I am not satisfied with and needs to be improved as far as the spare time is concerned. Since I meet so many so words as I have mentioned, it is very important to memorize them after class. But I don’t make good use of my spare time to do what I ought to. Commonly, when I arrive at the hostel after class, I start to feel very tired and don’t want to undertake memorizing the new words immediately. I usually do some sports or play games before dinner. After dinner, when it is the study time, I don’t feel like reviewing the lessons, either. It seems that I become fed up with the whole studying thing. What is worse, at weekends, I also spend most of time relaxing and having fun instead of looking through what I have learnt that week. It really sucks! I will try my best to improve this aspect.

  1. I'm glad your English has improved. You must find time to do a little bit of work everyday to improve even further.

  2. Hi,boy, you are in the same position with me.I have really tried my best to find some interest in my study so that I will be more initiative in my study and perform better in my bridging cource, but it turned out that all my effort was in vain.I just can not control myself. My will has always pushed me to have fun with friends during the study time.I can not concentrate.Maybe I have to do some changes just like you or I will have a poor result in my study.
