No sooner than I started studying here, did I fall into regret. I do not own any piece of the so called “big three”, e-dictionary, camera and laptop. Initially, I thought it’s very convenient to buy here. Instead, it gradually dawns on me that buying those things is not a easy job.
As we all know, memory is one of the most valuable treasure we have, and photos are an efficient way to keep them fresh. However, without a camera, I can not capture lots of meaningful and fabulous scenes happening in this new country.
Now we are majoring in English, whoever has learned the studying materials know how inconvenient it is to look up the new words without an e-dictionary. So many times I have to ask others’ to borrow one that sometimes I feel rather shameful! One schoolmate of mine has been given the nickname “Shareman” by my roommates, and I don’t want to be the next.
As to computer, everyone can understand its importance. Whereas, because of my hesitance, I have missed a opportunity to own an excellent one. So there is still a long way to go to possess one.
But however anxious I am, reality can not change. There is a good saying, “We can not change the environment and our circumstances, but we can change change the way we react to them.” It is just a matter of time. The e-dictionary is on the way, and computer will be booked soon. Furthermore, I do not want to buy a camera now. I only need to be patient and enjoy my bridging course!

I never knew you felt shameful when borrowing an e-dictionary and you shouldn't do! It's like a doubt to everyone's help, including mine, since I sit next to you a lot. It's my pleasure to offer you some help, and I think people all think so.
ReplyDeleteTalking about your new life here, “We can not change the environment and our circumstances, but we can change change the way we react to them” seems to be the best solution, to all of us. And I should say thank you for sharing this idea with us. Oh, by the way, good luck to you, "little one"~
Why you call e-dictionary, camera and laptop the "big three"?I have known your very unlucky exprience from your oral report, never mind, things are getting better. From another side, maybe you can change your thought. For me,I don't have camera either, when I need take photoes,I just ask my friend who owns one to do me a favor and my e-dictionary was broken, this week I am trying to fix it but I doubt the result.Never mind,I don't upset to this minutia.“We can not change the environment and our circumstances, but we can change change the way we react to them.” so,my groupmate, just enjoy your bridging course,no need to worry about others.
ReplyDeleteHi Changsheng I just learn about the new 'BIG-3'. No such thing actually. I agree completely with what Josie and Lei said. Being 'ashamed' is all in the mind. In your own way you have actually contribute to others when you borrow - you teach them that not everyone has 'everything', it teaches them to appreciate what they have, it teaches them to share. So, do not be in a hurry to play 'catch up.'
ReplyDeleteit's not so easy for me to find a parter who is now in the same extremely awkward situation just like me.you are just talking about me.huhu.could i use a idiom in chinese"yu wo xin qi qi yan" and another "xiang jia hen wan".
ReplyDelete"you are really talking about my feeling in the bottom of my heart, which has not been toughed since my born until meeting you" and "it's the pitiest thing in the world to meet you so late!!"
i haven't got a camera and a electrical either and now i am in deep pain.thank goodness that they are both on the way waiting for my welcome.really eager to see them and wish them a smooth and happy trip!!
Thank you!I have received my E-dictionary which makes rather content.Life is not so bad after all.
ReplyDeleteI've got nothing to say to Liang Jiayue..hehe. I agree with you all, we are all good friends, including animals. Don't think too much while it is very good for a man to be caring for the others. But one thing I want to share with you:you said you've missed an opportunity to own an excellent computer, how do you know that? If you get that, you may find it not so satisfactory, and there are also many other ones maybe very fit for you. you shall be more decisive,i think, and this kind of decisiveness has nothing to do with your high IQ,right? hehe.
