(Yap) Feelings After Watching A Movie

I’ve watched many movies.
But how do I usually judge them? Not according to Oscar, for sure.

---What’s Oscar for?
---Who cares?
---Those movie makers and cast care.
---But I don’t.

I see Oscar winner movies because I am curious. No doubt some are noticeable, but they are merely few of the crowd, few of millions of movies which should be awarded. There still exist countless good movies winning audience’s hearts. And winning the audience’s hearts is the most important thing. In other words, everybody may find his or her own movie, which touches the softest part of their heart. They just match.
As for me, I only enjoy those simple and real ones that send out pure and focused messages. Yes, I watch Spiderman series; I watch War of the Worlds; I watch The Red Cliff, but mostly for seeing what the majority are seeing, and sometimes for accumulating some fashionable topics. However, to be honest, they are surely feasts for eyes, while definitely not my “style”. Meanwhile, I see Will Smith’s movies, since he’s my favorite actor. But the two categories above are not likely to be what I want to drag to the folder of “I’m lov’in it”.
In actuality, I watch Forest Gump; I watch Amelie and I watch The Legend of 1900. Because they are what I’m really keen on. Movies like them struck my feelings and immediately created ripples that I will never want to forget. After watching this kind of movies, this my kind of movies, I may stop thinking, cannot pull myself out of the scenes, and do not want to speak to anybody for a very long time. There’s something like magnet making me just keep recalling and recalling the idea of the whole film. It may be some obscure true love, or innocent perseverance.
And that’s the way I judge a movie.

I’m posting this blog here to share my feelings with you, which cannot wait to come out after seeing a good movie called The Equation of Love and Death. (《李米的猜想》)

  1. i watched the film several days ago.it impressed me a lot ,too.the love between the two is described with very a light voice, which gives us a deeper impression.though you are not talking about the film that much,in my opinion,it is crisizing the dark side of the society which can remind people something that they've left behind.

  2. Actually, I don't watch movies very often, but I think I can grasp what you mean. I like reading novels, and sometimes, after finish reading a book, I can't manage to just leave the book behind. The plots, the characters and even the dialogues would remain in my mind for a rather long time. Sometimes, I even reread the book because I have entered into the story and can't get out of it.

  3. i think you have a deeply insight of movies and novels. i also like some films about real life and pure persons. you'll say a lot if coming into the good movie so words stopped at the movie name. but it is your thoughts about movies and it's good.

  4. Yeah, good movies are not always the movies which won the Oscar or got most box office revenue. Good movies are those which can make your heart stop beating and make you feel as if you are in the situation the movie shows. I remeber that when I finished watching the Legend of 1900, my heart can't help shaking for days, just for the subtle emotion 1900 shows us.And sometimes a movie can even change one's attitude towards life.It is a really enjoyment to watch a movie matches your own heart.
Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more.

  5. Hi Josie I watched a lot of movies too. I enjoyed RED CLIFF very much - it was well made, and of course the lead actor (you know who) is just so so good looking. Yes, I agree with Jacky that sometimes movies can change our prejudices towards an idea or people. FOREST GUMP has a lot of life lessons to teach us and I can watch and re-watch it. Did you watch KUNGFU PANDA? It's really very good.
