Open My Mind to NUS (AW)

This Saturday was a valuably day for me. I went to NUS to experience what the open house was. As our plan made before, I and my friend got up early in the morning and took No.963 to our school campus. The day was so different from usual days, because of the open house. What is open house? It is an introduction to the situation of NUS, especially about majors.
Now I still don’t know which major is suitable for me. Many people told me about choosing major depends on your own interest, but the real problem is I don’t know what my interest is. When I was in secondary school, I was interested in chemistry. I also love cars and the things relating to computer. Maybe a person has many interests is a good thing, but I don’t think it is a good thing for choosing majors like me. When I entered Chongqing University, the major of mine was civil engineering. However I can’t see civil engineering has a promising development in Singapore which is a developed country.
Maybe common engineering in the year one is a good choice for me. After one year study, I can see it clearly. I thank NUS for holding this open house for us, prospective students. In the information of engineering, I had a chance to talk with the professors and students from every major directly. I got the difference between chemical engineering and chemistry, realizing there is more similar between chemical engineering and mechanic engineering. What is the special of ISE? Why is it so popular? I also got information about EE and ME.
From my opinion, the models of chemical engineering are different from other engineering even in the year one. I can choose chemical engineering first and common engineering second. So if I can’t entre chemical engineering, common engineering will lead me to ISE, EE or ME. After one year, it’s easier for me to choose major, which is also a good idea.
In a nutshell, I am 19 years old, I have the ability of planning the future for myself. With taking many things into account, I have to open my minds to what I will do and what I will be. However half of my bridging course has passed, it is only four months left. I am look forward to the life in NUS.
Come on, everyone!
