We were outside on a camp. When we felt tired, we stopped to have a rest. I noticed that there was a monkey who was only skin and bone stretching itself several meters away from us. And it seemed that he was keeping an eye on us all the time. This monkey was up to no good, I thought.
Someone in our camp felt a bit hungry and wanted to content himself with some snacks. So he took a big bag of beef jerky out of his camp bag. I saw the monkey stopped stretching and was staring at my campmate’s hands. It stood up quickly as my campmate started to open the bag. When the bag was open, the monkey dashed to it, grabbed it and ran away. Wow, how proficient the robber was!
The robber neither did leave directly nor eat the beef jerky, but looked at the victim. This made my campmate rather irritated. He picked up a stone-like branch beside him and threw it to the monkey with all his strength. The monkey hurt a lot, I thought. And it left away, drifting “his” food difficultly.
I feel very sorry for the monkey, and I think the monkey would feel sorry for himself, too. But this is not the point I want to emphasize. What I want to say is that I cannot figure out the reason why my campmate could act so cruel to the robber. The monkey was a robber for sure, but it could be a fatherly parent who risked his life to rob for food for his little hungry child as well. I also remembered another thing I heard before, that is, a man hit a robber who only robbed him of a tiny thing to nearly die. I do not know what it is in these peoples’ minds, is it human brain, the kindest human brain?

Hi Kingdom, yes it is sad. People and animals do things for a reason. As you said it could be to feed the family, or to show power, to bully, 'just for fun'. When we do things we must be aware that what we do, does not upset others.. but then again, we may do things unconsciously.
ReplyDeleteBe kind to animals - they are our friends. We need them. I have a very nice little dog; his name is KING and he is 10 years and one month old.
I don't know whether it's right or wrong to treat animals as we do now. In this world it's difficult to say right or wrong, because everything happens for some reason, some of them them we know, some we don't know and also some we are led by wrong concept. That's why I don't have as a clear opinion as you. Anyway don't be too sad about what animals suffer now, as human beings have started to protect their rights and they may have a bright future.
