Poor Jack (Lugg. 7)

Jack is a piece of fire wrapped in an ice cube and the place he lives in is very cold. Once Jack exposes his inner fire to the outer world, the chill in the air will blow the fire, even crush out it.
People around Jack all feel that he is such an unfriendly guy that he turns a cold face to everyone. However, nobody knows the reason why he does so is that he is afraid of opening his ice cube protection layer. People who have touched his frozen surface would feel unsavoury and would never get close to him again. As a result, Jack is rather lonely, without any mates. As time goes by, Jack starts to get used to the situation.
Nevertheless, things will not remain what Jack thinks. One day, an optimistic and enthusiastic girl, who had been sick because of the cold weather, happened to meet Jack outside a hidden cave. She, with a pale smile on her face, greeted Jack and suddenly fell in a faint. Without hesitation, Jack clasped the girl running into the cave and exposed his fire to the girl, who came to herself after a time. The girl thanked Jack with an angel-like smile and suggested that they be friends. Jack agreed after taking a long breath. However, several days later, Jack became rather weak for his long time exposing his fire to the cold environment. So, he left the girl and felt much guilty.
Before Jack determined not to make friends with anyone, he came across with a friendly and warmhearted boy, who had the same experience as the girl. The boy also thanked Jack for saving his life and insisted on making friends with Jack. Jack was quite loath but he agreed once more as he sensed friendship or something. The consequence was as exactly the same as the case before. This time Jack turned out to be even weaker. Henceforth, Jack always drags his ice cube within only a dot of fire along the river, and never tastes any sorts of love.
